Frank Calenda Obituary

Frank Calenda, 61, of Warren, passed away peacefully, at home on August 25th, 2019. He was a son of the late Louis and Marie (Costa) Calenda. He is survived by his only son Nicondro Calenda Ide of Massachusetts, his brother, Arthur Prata of Cranston and two devoted sisters, Rosemary Calenda and Jerri Calenda both of Johnston. Frank was predeceased by one sister, Marietta Mangiarelli. He is also survived by many friends and relatives by whom he will be sorely missed. Frank was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School where he played on the high school hockey team. He loved sports, Italian food and dry jokes. He was a caring and compassionate man who loved his family more than anything else. Frank also loved Rico, his beautiful little Chihuahua. He was funny, had a great sense of humor and loved to tell jokes and stories. Many times, when telling his stories, he’d hear chorus’ of “We’ve heard that one before Frank” after which everyone would laugh. Frank was beloved by his family and will remain forever in our hearts Visitation to which family and friends are respectfully invited to attend, will be held in the Berarducci Home, 26 Grove St., Providence on Tuesday, September 3rd at 8:45am. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place in St Mary’s Church, 1525 Cranston St. Cranston at 10 am with burial to immediately follow in St., Ann’s Cemetery.
