Gaffney-- Aileen Delores Wiggins Thompson, 46, of 305 8th Street, Gaffney, SC, passed away Wednesday, October 12th, 2011. Born in Shelby, Ms. Thompson was the daughter of Mary Ellen Gordon Wiggins of Gaffney and the late James Clifford Wiggins. She worked as dispatcher for Gaffney Cab Company and was of the Baptist faith. Ms. Thompson is survived by her mother, Mary Ellen Gordon Wiggins of Gaffney; three sons, James Daniel Mathis of Blacksburg, George Winfred Mathis of the home, Robert Adam Mathis of Gaffney; one daughter, Heather Mathis Childers of Gaffney; two brothers, Terry Wayne Wiggins of Gaffney and Ronald Lee Graves of Shelby, NC; three sisters, Joyce Ann Earls of Boiling Springs, NC, Kaye Gibson of Fingerville, SC, and Myrtle Bell of Kings Mountain, NC.; one grandchild Robert Adam Mathis Jr. of the home. The family will receive friends Friday, October 14 from 7:00-8:00 at Gordon Mortuary. Graveside services will be held Saturday, October 15, at 11:00 a.m. at Oakland Cemetery with Rev. Charles Jeffery McCutcheon officiating. Memorials may be made to Aileen Thompson Burial Fund, c/o Gordon Mortuary, P. O. Box 428, Blacksburg, SC 29702. The family will be at the residence.
