Alex Moss

Blacksburg -- Alex Augustus Moss, 80, of 227 Wilderness Trail, passed away Sunday, June 7, 2009 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born in Blacksburg, Mr. Moss was the husband of the late Shirley Ann Foster Moss and the son of the late Gus and Dixie Bradshaw Moss. Mr. Moss worked as a flotation operator in mining and was a member of Cherokee Falls Missionary Fellowship Church. Surviving Mr. Moss are three daughters, Judy Stallings of Huntingtown, MD, Patricia Bell of Blacksburg, and Gail Moss of Blacksburg; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Mr. Moss was preceded in death by three brothers, Calvin, Norman, and Sidney Moss; and a half-sister, Lilley Mae Carey. The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 10, 2009, from 5 until 6:30. Funeral services will immediately follow at 6:30 in the Gordon Mortuary Chapel. The family will be at Gail Moss’ residence, 347 Mullinax Circle in Blacksburg.
