Blacksburg -- Anita Darlene Mitchell, 41, of 273 Roberts Road, Blacksburg, SC, passed away Sunday, April 3rd, 2011 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born in Gastonia, NC , Mrs. Mitchell was the wife of John Mitchell of the home and the daughter of the late Herbert David Smith and Elaine Joy Smith . She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith . In addition to her husband, Mrs. Mitchell is survived by a son, J. C. Mitchell of the home and a daughter, Morgan Mitchell of the home; 2 brothers, David Smith of Lake Wylie, Dean Smith of Bessemer City, NC; 2 sisters, Rene' Potter of Lake Wylie, and Diane Dover of Blacksburg. She was preceded in death by a sister, Charlene Smith, and a daughter, Heather Mitchell. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, April 6 at 1:00 p.m. at Clingman Memorial Gardens with Rev. Scott Hardin. Family will receive friends after the service at the cemetery. The family will be at the residence. The Book of Memories is available at www.gordonmortuary.com.
