Blacksburg -- Barbara Lucille Cook Smith, 70, of 147 Woody Road, Blacksburg, passed away Saturday, April 13th, 2013 at Hospice House of Greenwood. Born in Gaffney, Ms. Smith was the long time companion of the late Gene Peterson and the daughter of the late Jay Cook and Lillie Mae Patrick Cook. She worked as a lab technician at a chemical plant. Ms. Smith is survived by two step-daughters, Brandy Reyes and husband James of Greenwood, SC and Kim Stone of Saluda, SC; one brother, Jerry Dean Cook of Pelion, SC; one sister, Ruth P. Davis of Shelby, NC; four grandchildren, Eddie Reyes and Sophia Reyes of Greenwood and Cody Stone and Madelyn Bledsoe of Saluda. She was preceded in death by son William Smith, sister Lillian Pruitt, and brother James Howard Cook. The family will receive friends Thursday, April 18, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Gordon Mortuary.
