Blacksburg -- Billy Gene White, 72, of 713 Peeler Road, Blacksburg, passed away Friday, September 9th, 2011 at Carolinas Medical Center. Born in Gaffney, Mr. White was the son of the late Gordon White and Mary Elizabeth Blackwell White. He worked as a doffer in the textile industry and was a member of Cherokee Falls Missionary Fellowship Church .He was a member of the handyman association. Mr. White is survived by one brother Thomas Leon White of Blacksburg and and one sister Brenda Gail White of the home . The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 14th, 2011 from 3:00pm - 4:00pm at Christian Fellowship Church. Funeral services will follow at 4:00pm at Christian Fellowship Church with Rev. Willie Lanier, Rev. Tim Knotts, and Rev. Lucky Earls officiating. Interment will follow at Hambright Cemetery. Pallbearers are, Ryan White,Roger Lanier, Jimmy (Son) Scruggs, Victor Moss, Jimmy Hollman and Alex Farnsworth. Memorials may be made to Gordon Mortuary, P. O. Box 428, Blacksburg, SC 29702.
