Bobby Joe Rose

Blacksburg -- Bobby Joe "Dinky Dover" Rose, 61, of 209 Mosley Road, passed away Thursday, January 7th, 2016, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Born in York, he was the husband of Sherry Mosley Rose and the son of Barbara Jackson of Blacksburg, and the late Earn Dover. Mr. Rose previously worked for Industrial Minerals and was of the Baptist faith. Dinky loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He also loved working in his sawmill.

In addition to his wife and mother, Mr. Rose is survived by two sons, Bobby Wayne Rose and wife, Anna, of Blacksburg, and Timothy Wells Rose of the home; two grandchildren, Nathan and Emalee Rose, both of Blacksburg; two brothers, Ricky Dover of Blacksburg and Samuel Dover of York; four sisters, Mary Tucker of Blacksburg, Audrey Crawley of Kings Mountain, Sandra Dixon of Blacksburg, and Sonya Dover of Blacksburg; and two special nieces, Crystal Jackson and Rachel Farris, both of Blacksburg.,

In addition to his father, Mr. Rose was preceded in death by one brother, John Thomas Dover, and his step-father, Leon Jackson.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 9th, 2016, from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Gordon . Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 10th, 2016 at 2:00 pm in the Gordon Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Barry Philbeck and Rev. Jeff Gilfillan officiating. Interment will follow in the Rose Family Cemetery. Paul Dixon, Ricky Farris, Keith Manning, Bob Mosley, Tony Peeler, Bobby Manning, Andy Stanford, and Harley Ham will serve as pallbearers.

The family will be at the residence.
