Carolyn Childers

Blacksburg -- Carolyn "Tottie" Childers, 74, of 408 Upper Deal Street, passed away Tuesday, January 20th, 2015, at Gaffney Medical Center. Born in Gaffney, she was the widow of James "Skinny" Childers and the daughter of the late Glenn Isaac Seals and Vinnie Franklin Self Seals. Mrs. Childers retired as a cook at Ozzie's and was a member of Cherokee Falls Missionary Fellowship Church. Surviving Mrs. Childers are three sons, Andy Childers and wife, Sandra, of Gaffney, Chris Childers and wife, Donna, of Blacksburg, and Nelson Childers and wife, Jennifer, of Gaffney; three daughters, Reita Martin and husband, Gregg, of Blacksburg, Cathy Childers of Blacksburg, and Wendy Childers of Blacksburg; one brothers, L.J. Seals, of Gaffney; and one sisters, Sue Elliott, of Gaffney; and nine grandchildren, Jamie Martin, Elizabeth Childers, Lauren Childers Martin and husband, Michael, Melanie Childers, Leslie Childers, Nicholas Childers, Caitlyn Childers, Ethan Atkins, and Conner Childers. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 22nd, 2015, from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm at Cherokee Falls Missionary Fellowship Church. Funeral services will immediately follow at 3:00 pm with Rev. Lucky Earls and Rev. Willie Lanier officiating. Interment will follow at Clingman Memorial Gardens. John Wayne Cole, Jamie Martin, Dennis Martin, Dennis Hardin, Tim Seals, and Terry Martin will serve as pallbearers. The family will be at the home of Cathy Childers, 408 Upper Deal Street, Blacksburg. The Book of Memories is available at www.gordonmortuary.com.
