Charles Parker

Blacksburg -- Charles Ellix Leefoy Parker, 83, of 247 Bridges Road, passed away Monday, November 17th, 2014, at his residence. Born in Gaffney, he was the widower of Fannie Parker and Virginia Stanford and the son of the late Henry and Mattie Hall Parker. Parker retired as deputy sheriff and was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. He was also a former Mason and he served our country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Surviving Mr. Parker is one son, Donnie L. Parker, of Gaffney; one step-son, Fred W. Keller, of Gaffney; three other step-children; one sister, Lib Blanton, of Gaffney; ten grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren; and a special caregiver, Cindy Turner, of the home. In addition to his wife, Mr. Parker was preceded in death by two step-sons, Jerry H. Keller and Carl F. (C.R.) Keller; three brothers, Earl, Burman, and T.J. Parker; and one sister, Emma Jean Phillips. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, November 20, 2014 in the Gordon Mortuary Chapel with Dr. Bruce Price and Rev. Perrin Parker officiating. Visitation will immediately follow the service. Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice. The family will be at the residence.
