Blacksburg -- Christopher Joseph Patrick Braniff, 57, of 128 Daisy Lane, Blacksburg, passed away Saturday, February 2nd, 2013 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born in Manchester, England, Mr. Braniff was the husband of Donnita Earls Braniff of the home. He was the son of Hugh William Braniff and Eileen White Braniff. He worked as a joiner in the construction industry. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and a member of the Cherokee County Coin Club. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Paul Braniff of Portsmouth, England; two daughters, Samantha Braniff Mellor of Manchester, England, Clare Braniff and Tony Dutt of Rochdale, England, and Sarah Braniff of Manchester, England; one sister, Frances Killen of Northern Ireland; and 5 grandchildren, Adam Braniff and Zack Mellor of Manchester, England; Aanisaa Louise Dutt, Alliyya Dutt, and Kyzaar Dutt of Rochdale, England. The family will receive friends Friday, February 8, 2013 from 2:00-2:30 pm at Gordon Mortuary. Funeral services will be at Clingman Memorial Gardens Mausoleum at 3:00 pm with Bishop Brian Cox and Elder Barry Earls officiating. Entombment will be at Clingman Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Earls, Willie Earls, Alan Cerny, Carlton Cerny, Thomas Sansing, Joseph Moss, Jeramy Earls, and Bobby Duncan. Mr. Braniff was preceded in death by his children's mother, Christine Neale of Portsmouth, England. The family is at the residence. The Book of Memories is available at www.gordonmortuary.com.
