York -- Coreen Waldrop Carnes, 72, of 13175 W. Highway 55, passed away Wednesday, August 24th, 2016, at her residence. Born in Greenville, SC, she was the daughter of the late Augustine Thomas Waldrop and Mary Elizabeth Hudson Waldrop. Mrs. Carnes retired as a nurse and was a member of Midway Baptist Church of York, SC. Surviving Mrs. Carnes are three sons, John Wesley Sheppard of Gastonia, NC, Jimmy Sheppard of Lincolnton, NC, and Jeffrey Brian Carnes of Irmo, SC; one sister, Martha Elizabeth Goforth, of Rutherfordton, NC; and seven grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Carnes was preceded in death by three brothers, Manuel, Willie, and Grady Waldrop, and a sister, Faye Meek. The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 27th, 2016, from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm at Midway Baptist Church of York. Funeral services will immediately follow at 12:00 pm with Rev. Thomas Whray officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens. Memorials may be made to Midway Baptist Church Building Fund, 12984 State Hwy 55, York, SC 29745.
