Dewey Hampton

Blacksburg -- Dewey Wayne Hampton, 70, of 313 West Carolina Street, Blacksburg, SC went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 26th, 2011 at his residence. Born in Blacksburg, Mr. Hampton was the son of the late John Dewey (Johnny) Hampton and of the late Margie Collins Hampton. He worked as a flooring helper and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Hampton is survived by one son David Hampton of Easley, two step-daughters, Angela Sellars and Jennifer Sellers both of Spartanburg; four sisters, Judy Ellis of Rocky Ford, Ga., Jolene Martin and spouse Randy of Blacksburg, Gail Mullinax and spouse Steve of Blacksburg, Karen (Sissy) Martin and spouse Steve of Blacksburg, and special nephew Jason Martin of Gaffney, SC. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 29th, at 4:00pm at Gordon Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Jamie Ellis, Rev. Eric Sellers, and Jason Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Clingman Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the cemetery after the services.
