Blacksburg -- Donald Wayne Bowen, 52, of 191 Squaw Valley Road, passed away Thursday, November 19th, 2015, at Mary Black Health System - Gaffney.

Born in Shelby, he was the husband of Christine Failen Bowen and the son of the late Larry Emitt and Betty Jean Johnson Bowen. Mr. Bowen retired from textiles and was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Bowen is survived by two sons, Donald Brandon Bowen of Blacksburg and Jonathan Wayne Childers of Gaffney; two daughters, Leslie Ann Childers and Christy Lea Bowen, both of Blacksburg; two brothers, David Neal Bowen and Forrest Eugene Bowen, both of Blacksburg; and eighteen grandchildren.,

The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 21st, 2015, from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Gordon Mortuary. Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 22nd, 2015 at 3:00 pm in the Gordon Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Lucky Earls officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. Gary Jones, Jonathan Childers, Brandon Bowen, Chris Scriunts, Kaleb Dover, and Bobby Jean Tucker will serve as pallbearers.
