Gaffney -- Donald Rufus "Head" Spencer, 79, of 125 Beltline Road, Apt 59, passed away Monday, January 11th, 2016, at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.

Born in Gaffney, he was the widower of Burenda Spencer and the son of the late Rufus and Idele Spencer. Mr. Spencer retired from working at a gas station and was a member of Encounter Church.

Surviving Mr. Spencer are one son, Brian Keith Spencer, of Gaffney; one sister, Nell Parker; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Spencer was preceded in death by a son, Donald Lamar Spencer, and two sisters, Phyllis and Barbara.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 13th, 2016, from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm at Gordon Mortuary. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00 pm with Pastor Joey Turner and Rev. Russ Bradley officiating. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery.
