Donna Blankenship

Shelby -- Donna Gwen Evans Blankenship 55, of 117 Oconee Drive, passed away Sunday, December 2nd, 2012, at her residence. Born in Shelby, NC, Mrs. Blankenship was the wife of James B. Blankenship and the daughter of Maudine Allen Terry of Shelby and the late Ralph Secro Evans. She worked in textiles and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her husband and mother, Mrs. Blankenship is survived by a step father, Ray Terry, of Mooresboro, NC; a son, J.W. Blankenship, and his spouse, Jennifer, of the home; a brother, Mark Stevens Evans, of Polkville, NC; and sister, Sherry Deanne Jackson, of Grover, NC. She also has four grandchildren and was preceeded in death by a daughter, Amanda Merrell, and a grandson, Jeremiah Merrell. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:30 PM Friday afternoon at Gordon Mortuary. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM Friday at Clingman Memorial Gardens following the visitation with Rev. Doug Thrift officiating. Pallbearers will be Josh Walker, Jerry Jackson, Josh Hopper, Kenny Sheppard, Adam Jackson, Kenny Burton, and Wade Martin.
