Blacksburg -- Earlene McDaniel White, 89, of 403 West Carolina Street, passed away Friday, September 23rd, 2011, at Upstate Carolina Medical Center. Born in Blacksburg, Mrs. White was the widow of Charles Edward White and the daughter of the late Clarence Augustus and Mattie Elizabeth Bolin McDaniel. She retired as a custodian and was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. White is survived by a son, Larry White, of the home; a brother, Bobby Julian McDaniel, of Rock Hill; two grandchildren, Connie Marie McCord and Larry Kevin White, both of Blacksburg; and six great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. White was preceded in death by two sisters, Melba McDaniel and Georgia Louise Hughey. The family will receive friends Sunday, September 25th, 2011, from 7:00pm - 8:30pm at Gordon Mortuary. Funeral services will be held Monday, September 26th, at 2:00pm in the Gordon Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Tim Knotts officiating. Interment will follow at Clingman Memorial Gardens.
