Elizabeth Messer

Gaffney -- Elizabeth Darlene McClain Messer, 66, of 400 Bonner Lake Road Apt F5, passed away Sunday, October 2nd, 2016, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born in Gaffney, she was the daughter of the late Emanuel McClain and Laura Lottie Mae Hambright McClain. Mrs. Messer retired as a nursing assistant and was a member of Cherokee Falls Baptist Church. Surviving Mrs. Messer are two sons, David Messer Jr. of Grover and Travis Messer of the home; three brothers, Louis, John, and Gerald "Koot" McClain, all of Blacksburg; and a sister, Margaret McClain, of Gaffney. Mrs. Messer was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, L.B. McClain, and a sister, Ruth Raines. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 4th, 2016, from 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm at Mrs. Messer's Residence, Ryan Park Apartments, 400 Bonner Lake Road, Apt F-5, Gaffney, South Carolina 29340. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, October 5th, 2016 at 3:00 pm at Mountain View Cemetery with Rev. Willie Lanier officiating. Eddy Scronce Jr., Jordan Messer, Christopher Scronce, Joseph Sanlin, Elijah Henderson, and Roger Bolin will serve as pallbearers. The family will be at the residence.
