Elmer Wisher

Blacksburg -- Elmer Elizabeth Wright Wisher, born December 25th 1923, would have been 90 on Christmas Day. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 25th, 2013 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born in York County's Broad River Township, she was the widow of Gereld Dean Wisher and the daughter of the late Woodrow Druey Wright and Rachel Elizabeth Hardin Wright. She retired from textiles and was a member of Blacksburg Church of God. Surviving Mrs. Wisher is a son, Robert Dean Wisher and wife, Cindy, of Blacksburg; a daughter, Wanda Hodge, and husband, Landrum Ezell Hodge, of Gaffney; five grandchildren, Chad Wisher and wife, Anita, Timothy Wisher and wife, Trena, Summer Wisher, Carol W. Blackwell and husband, Winfred, and Christopher Wisher; ten great-grandchildren, eleven great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Johnny and Donald Wisher; a daughter, Varita Wisher; five brothers, J.L. Wright, Floyd David Wright, Bill Wright, Albert Wright, and Glenn Wright; and two sisters, Margaret Ellis and Brenda Phillips. The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 30, 2013 from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Gordon Mortuary. Funeral services will immediately follow at 3:00 PM in the Gordon Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Chad Wisher officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. The family will be at their respective homes. The family would like to give a special thanks to Mrs. Wisher's attending RN's and PCA's who lovingly cared for her during her stay at the hospital.
