Eula Byars

Gaffney -- Eula Mae Beattie Byars, 90, of Peachtree Centre, but formerly of 132 Boots Trail, passed away Friday, March 19, 2010 at Upstate Carolina Medical Center. Born in Gaffney, Mrs. Byars was the wife of the late Charles "Boots" Byars and the daughter of the late Elsie Andrew and Pearl Sills Beattie. She was retired from textiles and was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church. Surviving Mrs. Byars are two sons, Bruce Wayne "Mack" Byars of Blacksburg and Joe Dean Byars of Gaffney; three daughters, Patricia Humphries of Gaffney, Brenda Boheler of Blacksburg, and Terri Muzyka of Beauford, GA; 9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Byars was preceded in death by three brothers, Paul, Bill, and Dwight Beattie and two sisters, Maggie Camp and Eva Harris. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2:30 PM on Monday, March 22, 2010 at Hopewell Baptist Church. The funeral will immediately follow at 3 PM with Rev. Terry Lowe officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Robert Humphries, Brian Byars, Tim Boheler, Danny Ham, Jr., Derek Ham, and Robbie Humphries will serve as pallbearers. The family will be at the home of Mack Byars, 132 Boots Trail, Blacksburg. Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels, PO Box 1886, Gaffney, SC 29342 or to Hopewell Baptist Church Building Fund, 511 Old Chester Road, Blacksburg, SC 29702.
