Frank Gaddis Obituary

York-- Frank Robert Gaddis, 85, of 13062 West Highway 55, passed away Tuesday, March 14th, 2017, at Brookview Nursing Home. Born in Murphy, NC, he was the widower of Mildred "Midge" Dockery Gaddis and the son of the late Carl Gaddis and Azlee Dockery Gaddis. Mr. Gaddis retired as a Foreman with SC Department of Transportation and attended Broad River Baptist Church of Smyrna. Mr. Gaddis is survived by two daughters, Estelle Stinnett and late husband, Gay, of Bessemer City, NC and Frankie Kay Hale and husband, Roy, of Cowpens; four brothers, Andrew Gaddis of High Point, Wayne Gaddis of Hickory Grove, Ed Gaddis and Clinton Gaddis, both of Gastonia; three sisters, Ruby Stilles of Bessemer City, Sue Gaddis and Grace Lee, both of Gastonia; four grandchildren, Tracy Bolin, Kevin Sexton and wife, Nicole, Roy Hale and wife, Shella, and Matthew Hale and wife, Kristina; and five great-grandchildren, Clinton, Kaylynn, Colton, Cameron, and Addie. Mr. Gaddis was preceded in death by two brothers, Arden and Walter Gaddis, and one sister, Thelma Forrester. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 16th, 2017, from 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm at Gordon Mortuary, 400 West Cherokee Street, Blacksburg, South Carolina 29702. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 17th, 2017 at 12:00 pm at Broad River Baptist Church of Smyrna, 2315 Legion Road, Smyrna, SC 29743 with Rev. Dale Welch and Rev. Michael Haines officiating. Interment will follow at Broad River Baptist Church Cemetery (Smyrna). Kevin Sexton, Clint Sexton, Roy Hale, Matthew Hale, Sonny Carroll, and Randy Hale will serve as pallbearers. The family will be at the residence.
