Harold Blanton

Gaffney -- Harold Hubert Blanton, 74, of Brookview Healthcare Center, passed away Sunday September 20, 2009 at Upstate Carolina Medical Center. Born in Cowpens, Mr. Blanton was the husband of the late Essie Mae Blanton and the son of the late Hollie and Lillie Greene Blanton. He worked in textiles and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Blanton is survived by two daughters, Hazel Willis, and Joyce Mullinax of Cowpens; one son, Sammy Blanton, of Cowpens; three granchildren, four great - grandchildren, and one great- great -grandchild; and two brothers, Billy Blanton of Gaffney and Ken Blanton of Spartanburg. The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 23, 2009 from six to eight at Gordon Mortuary. The family will be at Teresa Thompson's residence, 158 Thornbird Road, Cowpens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to American Diabetes Association Greenville Office, 16-A Brozzini Court, Greenville, SC 29615 The Book of Memories is available at www.gordonmortuary.com.
