Howard Dillingham Obituary

Gaffney -- Howard Dillingham, 92, formerly of 532 Cherokee Falls Road, passed away Thursday, January 30th, 2014, at Peachtree Centre. Born in Blacksburg, he was the widower of Coleen Petty Dillingham and the son of the late John and Molly Moss Dillingham. He worked as a Card Room and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Mr. Dillingham was a veteran of the United States Army and fought in WWII at the Battle of the Bulge under General George Patton. During his service he received the American Theater Service Medal, the KAME Service Medal with two bronze stars, the Good Conduct Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal. Mr. Dillingham is survived by a daughter, Frances Dillingham, of Pineville, NC, four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Dillingham was preceded in death by a daughter, Marlene Gallman. Graveside services will he held Sunday, February 2nd, 2014, at 2:00 PM at Moss Cemetery with Rev. Roger Ham officiating. The family will be at their respective homes.
