Jack Goodson

Blacksburg -- Jack Willard Goodson, 82, of 349 Henson Road, passed away Wednesday, October 8th, 2014, at his daughter's home. Born in Blacksburg, he was the husband of Carolyn Hollifield Goodson and the son of the late Frank Goodson and Minnie Hughey Goodson. Mr. Goodson retired as a painter and was a member of Blacksburg Church of God. Mr. Goodson is survived by two sons, Jeff Smith of Charlotte, NC and Eddie Goodson of Blacksburg; six daughters, Misty Elliott of Blacksburg, Tammy White of Gaffney, Cindy Crocker of Kenly, NC, Donna Henson and Susan Wood of Blacksburg, and Sherry Martin of Bradenton, FL; three sisters, Jennie Bolin, Carolyn Mullinax, and Christine Denton, all of Blacksburg; 17 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren., He was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth Goodson and Frank Goodson, Jr. and two sisters, Betty McDaniel and Ruby Goodson. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 10th, 2014, from 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm at Gordon Mortuary. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 11th, 2014 at 1:00 pm at Blacksburg Church of God with Rev. Ricky Pridmore, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Frederick Memorial Gardens. John Gary Crasten I, John Gary Crasten II, Bobby Goodson, Lane Crocker, Aaron White, and Bradley White will serve as pallbearers. The family will be at the residence of Gary Crasten at 168 Canton Drive in Blacksburg. The Book of Memories is available at www.gordonmortuary.com.
