Blacksburg -- James O. Batchler, 91, of 120 Batchler Trail, passed away Thursday, November 6th, 2014, at his residence. Born in Blacksburg, he was the widower of Goldie Batchler and the son of the late James Alexander Batchler and Euna Byars Batchler. Mr. Batchler retired from construction and was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church. Surviving Mr. Batchler are four sons, Roger Batchler and wife, Barbara, of Blacksburg, Douglas Batchler and wife, Angie, of Blacksburg, Randy Batchler and wife, Wendy, of Gaffney, and Johnny Batchler of Gaffney; two daughters, Bonnie Jones and husband, Tommy, of Blacksburg and Patricia Reavis and husband, Gene, of Gaffney; one sister, Catherine Borders of Blacksburg; nine grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren., The family will receive friends on Friday, November 7th, 2014, from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Gordon Mortuary. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 8th, 2014 at 11:00 am at Rock Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Dale Welch officiating. Interment will follow at Clingman Memorial Gardens. Chris Batchler, Todd Jones, DJ Batchler, John Henderson, Randy Batchler Jr, Chase Martin, and Robbie Blanton will serve as pallbearers.
