Blacksburg -- James Edward Blackwell, 75, of 406 North Charleston Street, passed away Thursday, November 5th, 2020, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born in Blacksburg, he was the son of the late William Blackwell and Gladys Sprouse Blackwell. Mr. Blackwell was a member of Blacksburg Church of God. He enjoyed the Atlanta Braves, Gamecock football, and was a Vietnam veteran with the US Army. Mr. Blackwell is survived by two sisters, Carolyn B. Butler of Vale, NC and Mildred B. Robinson (William Gary) of Blacksburg. He was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Leroy Blackwell. Graveside services will be Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at 3:00 pm at Mountain View Cemetery with Rev. Quitman Hand officiating. The family will be at the home of Mildred Robinson, 109 Brull Street, Blacksburg, SC.
