Blacksburg -- James Morris Bridges, 44, of 902 South Rutherford Street passed away Saturday, January 24, 2009 at his home. Born in Shelby, NC, Mr. Bridges was the son of the late Bobby Morris Bridges and Edna Y. Jolley of Gaffney. Mr. Bridges worked as a truck driver and was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church. In addition to his mother, Mr. Bridges is survived by four sons, T.J. Bridges, Steven Bridges, both of Blacksburg, Christopher Bridges of Tennessee, and Jesse Bridges of Blacksburg; a daughter, Mellissa Bridges of Sparta, NC; his step-father, Steve C. Jolley of Gaffney; a brother, Bobby Randall Bridges of Blacksburg; and two sisters, Crystal McCurry of Shelby and Sheina K. Powell of Gaffney. In addition to his father, Mr. Bridges was preceded in death by a brother, Terry Eugene Bridges. The services for Mr. Bridges will be private, however entombment will be at Frederick Memorial Gardens. The family will be at his mother's residence, 91 Cyprus Drive, Gaffney, SC 29340.
