Blacksburg -- Janie Black Wilson, 78, formerly of 400 Battleground Drive in Blacksburg, passed away Sunday, June 9th, 2013 at Peachtree Centre. Born in Blacksburg, Mrs. Wilson was the widow of Madison Monroe Wilson and the daughter of the late Johnny Benjamin and Ruthie Lee Moore Black. She retired from textiles and was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Wilson is survived by four sons, Kenneth (Shorty) Wilson of Blacksburg, Marion Wilson of Kings Mountain, John Wilson of Blacksburg, and Charles (Buck) Wilson of Blacksburg; six sisters, Julie Camp of Redford, NC, Louise Lovelace of Grover, Brenda Allen of Grover, Carolyn Godingus of Blacksburg, Edna Cogdell of Kings Mountain, and Bennie Moore of Blacksburg; ten grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 11th, 2013, from 6:00pm - 7:30pm at Gordon Mortuary. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, June 12th, at 4:00pm at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Vernon Craig and Rev. Harold Beam officiating. The grandsons and great-grandsons of Mrs. Wilson will serve as pallbearers. The family will be at the home of Kenneth (Shorty) Wilson, 394 Battleground Drive, Blacksburg.
