<p>Blacksburg -- John William Beattie Jr., 46, of 121 Killian Street, passed away Friday, December 25th, 2015, at his residence.</p><p><br></p><p>Born in Gaffney, he was the husband of Robin Boulware Beattie and the son of Kathy Ellis Beattie and the late John William Beattie Sr. Mr. Beattie worked as a maintenance mechanic and was a member of Heaven's Trail Cowboy Church.</p><p><br></p><p>In addition to his wife and mother, Mr. Beattie is survived by a son Dustin Shane Beattie, of Gaffney; a daughter, Danielle Brooke Beattie, of Gaffney; two step-sons, Brian Anthony Castle and Christopher Daniel Castle, both of Buffalo, SC; a step-daughter, April Dawn Millwood, of Union; a brother, Robert "Robbie" Andrew Beattie and wife, Jacklyn, of Blacksburg; a niece, Layla Beattie of Blacksburg; a nephew, Tegan Beattie, of Blacksburg; and seven step-grandchildren.</p><p><br></p><p>The family will receive friends on Monday, December 28th, 2015, from 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm at Gordon Mortuary. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 29th, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Gordon Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Jeff Harris and Evangelist Darren Lanier officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Paran Baptist Church Cemetery. Brent Childers, Scott Willis, Brian Castle, Christopher Castle, Robbie Beattie, Keith Browning, Bill Horne, and Sean Williams will serve as pallbearers.</p><p><br></p><p>The family will be at the residence.</p><p><br></p><p>The Book of Memories is available at www.gordonmortuary.com.</p>
