Blacksburg -- John Blanton, 61, of 137 Jason Road, passed away Monday, August 13th, 2012, at his residence. Born in Shelby, Mr. Blanton was the son of the late Huston Lee Blanton and Margaret Lucille Maynard, and he worked in the warehouse for an industrial parts distributor. Mr. Blanton is survived a son, Patrick Blanton, of Blacksburg; a brother, Ivan Lee Blanton, of Shelby; a sister, Beth Blanton, of Shelby; and three grandchildren.
