Johnny Martin

Blacksburg -- Johnny Wayne Martin, 23, of 1480 Blacksburg Highway Lot 6, passed away Sunday, April 3rd, 2016, at his residence. Born in Spartanburg, he was the son of Terry "Johnny" Martin and the late Monica P. Martin. Mr. Martin was a member of the Garden Temple Assembly of God. In addition to his father, Mr. Martin is survived by a sister, Natasha Foster and husband, John Ross, of Gaffney; his grandmother, Shirley Whitaker, of Gaffney; numerous aunts and uncles, Steven and Kandy W. Hughey of Knoxville, TN, Dianna Hodge of Kinsport, TN, Kenneth and Lana Whitaker of Gaffney, Debbie Martin of Gaffney, Harry and Kim Thompson of Kings Mountain, NC, Joy Vandyke of Gaffney, Randall and Sonya Thornburg of Gaffney, and Tony Martin of Spartanburg; a nephew, Jayden Ross, of Gaffney; and two nieces, Faith and Alix Foster of Blacksburg. Along with his mother, Mr. Martin was preceded in death by his grandparents, Herbert and Syble Martin and Steve Patterson. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 7th, 2016, from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Gordon Mortuary. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 8th, 2016 at 3:00 pm at Garden Temple Assembly of God with Rev. Danny Marshburn officiating. Interment will follow at Clingman Memorial Gardens. John John Bradley, Aaron Sprouse, Randal Thornburg, Jared Roberts, Anthony McFadden, and Jonathan Walker will serve as pallbearers. The family will be at the residence.
