Gaffney -- J.R. Ledbetter, 78, of 124 Ballenger Road, passed away Wednesday, February 12th, 2014, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. He was married to Bessie Jane Murray Ledbetter and was the son of the late Dennis Ledbetter and Leona Gordon Ledbetter. He retired from textiles and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his wife, Mr. Ledbetter is survived by a son, Dean Ledbetter, of Gaffney; two daughters, Ann Ledbetter of Gaffney and Kathy Ledbetter of Spindale, NC; two step-sons, Kenny and Jimmy Dean Murray of York; two step-daughters, Sareta Stewart of York and Tammie Dover of Clover; three brothers, Horace Ledbetter of Blacksburg; Dan Ledbetter of Gaffney, and Carl Ledbetter of Cowpens; three sisters, Sadie Butler of Gaffney, Doris Cobb of Clemson, and Rosetta McDaniel; and three grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Ledbetter was preceded in death by two brothers, Dennis and Archey Ledbetter, and three sisters, Margie Childers, Sandra White, and Beatrice White.
