Gaffney -- Julia Frances Shokes Campbell, 82, of 510 Thompson Street, passed away Sunday, February 1, 2009 at her residence.
Born in Charleston, Mrs. Campbell was the daughter of the late Harold Loftis Shokes Sr. and the late Julia Brockington Speer. She was a life-long Episcopalian and was a member of the Church of Incarnation. Mrs. Campbell retired as an accountant and a registered nurse and she did work for Poole's Jewelers.
Surviving Mrs. Campbell is a son, Tom Campbell of Blacksburg; a granddaughter, Lyndsey Kathryn Campbell of Blacksburg, a brother, Harold Loftis Shokes Jr. of Scranton, SC; and a half-brother, Merill Speer of Savannah, GA.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Campbell was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Shokes Conolly.
Funeral services for Mrs. Campbell will be private, however, interment will be at Mountain View Cemetery.
