Lanny Edwards

Harrisburg -- Lanny Ashley Edwards, 67, of 228 Valhalla Drive, passed away Wednesday, October 22nd, 2014. Born in Union County, NC, he was the husband of Judith Edwards and the son of the late Hoyle Buren Edwards, Sr. and Betty Ponds Edwards. Mr. Edwards worked as a salesman for NAPA, he was a member of the Steel Creek #737 Masonic Lodge, and was of the Baptist faith. He loved working with guns and has taught North Carolina Concealed Carry classes since 1995. He also loved woodworking and had created many beautiful things over the years. In addition to his wife, Mr. Edwards is survived by one son, Ashley Edwards and his wife, Miranda, of Concord, NC; three grandchildren, Jessica, Caleb, and Ayden Edwards, all of Concord; one brother, Charles Edwards, of Charlotte; and one sister, Martha Whitehead, of Charlotte. In addition to his parents, Mr. Edwards was preceded in death by two brothers, Hoyle Buren "Junior" Edwards, Jr. and Larry Edwards. Graveside services will be held Saturday, October 25, 2014, at 11:00 am in the Buffalo Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Harold Johnson officiating. Visitation will immediately follow from 11:30 am - 12:30 pm at Buffalo Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to Oxford Orphanage, 600 College Street, Oxford, NC 27565 or to the Buffalo Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 618 Old Buffalo Church Road, Blacksburg, SC 29702.
