Kings Mountain -- Lillian Wilson Elkins, 79, of 107 Dover Avenue, passed away Saturday, January 9, 2010 at Kings Mountain Hospital. Born in Cherokee County, Mrs. Elkins was the wife of John Elkins of the home and the daughter of the late John and Martha Wilson. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and worked as a housewife. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Elkins is survived by three sons, Dannie L. Coffee of Atlanta, GA, Dale Stephen Elkins of Blacksburg, and John David Elkins of the home; three daughters, Annie Elliott of Rock Hill, Theresa Wray of Salem, VA, and Debra Kay Shovey of Monks Coroner; ten grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 Tuesday evening at Gordon Mortuary. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Sherry Moss officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the American Diabetes Association, Greenville office 16-A Brozzini Court Greenville, SC, 29615.
