Blacksburg -- Magel Arlene Dixon Underwood, 71, of 148 Possum Trot Road, passed away Thursday, December 23rd, 2010 at Kings Mountain Hospice. Born in Kings Mountain, Mrs. Underwood was the daughter of the late Ira Nelson and Lela Novella Pryor Dixon,. She retired as a registered nurse at Countrytime Nursing Care of Gastonia and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. Mrs. Underwood is survived by two daughters, Christy Isler Hallo and spouse, Paul, of Grover and Lisa Isler Morris and fiance, Steven Owen, of Blacksburg; two sisters, Diane Dixon of Kings Mountain and Brenda Blalock and husband, Royce, of Shelby; six grandchildren, Corporal Steven Hallo and spouse, Kathy, of Blacksburg, Matthew Isler, Jessica Sanders and spouse, Shane, of Kings Mountain, David Morris of Blacksburg, Amanda Morris of Hendersonville, and Kayla Hallo of Grover; and 2 great-grandchildren, Dawson and Dylan Sanders, of Kings Mountain. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Underwood was preceded in death by a son, David Kent Isler, and a sister, Kay Pearson. The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 28, 2010 from 2PM until 3PM at Antioch Baptist Church . Funeral services will immediately follow at 3PM at Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Vernon Craig and Rev. Michael Woods officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Corporal Steven Hallo, James Hallo, Matthew Isler, Steven Owen, Paul Hallo, and Shane Sanders. Memorials may be made to Kings Mountain Hospice House, 321 Kings Mountain Blvd., Kings Mountain, NC, 28086. The family will be at the residence of Lester Isler, 148 Possum Trot Road, Blacksburg, SC.
