Margaret Mathis

Blacksburg -- Margaret Diane Mathis, 69, of 313 Deana Lane, passed away Saturday, April 1st, 2017, at her residence. Born in Gastonia, she was the wife of twenty-seven years to Leon Mathis and the daughter of the late Margaret Yates. Mrs. Mathis retired from Hardee's and was a member of Mt. Whitaker Baptist Church. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Mathis is survived by one brother, Henry Yates, of Dallas, NC, and two sisters, Vicki Kidd of Youngtown, OH and Tina Metcalf of Pace, FL. Mrs. Mathis was preceded in death by her grandparents who helped raise her, Domer and Leila Wilson. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 5th, 2017, from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm at Mt. Whitaker Baptist Church, 434 North Mountain Street Ext, Blacksburg, SC 29702. Funeral services will immediately follow at 3:00 pm with Rev. Michael Owen officiating. Interment will follow at Frederick Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the Hospice & Palliative Care Foundation, PO Box 151, Drayton, SC 29333. The family will be at the residence.
