Melvin Dover

Blacksburg -- Bill Jack Dover, 64, of 505 W. Cherokee St., passed away Saturday, December 31st, 2011, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born in Clover, Mr. Dover was the husband of Tammy Cobb Dover of the home and the son of the late William Grady and Mary Orie Bradley Dover. He retired as a welder and was a member of Christian Fellowship Church. In addition to his wife, Mr. Dover is survived by two sons, Kevin Dover of Smyrna and Joshua Lanier of Grover; two daughters, Tracy Morgan of Cherryville and Crystal Norman of Smyrna; a brother, William E. Dover Jr, of Blacksburg; five sisters, Mary Kale of Clover, Aileen Bell of Blacksburg, Betty Brazzel of Clover, Joyce Bolin of York, and Ann Batchelor of Kings Creek; twelve grandchildren, Fran Whiting of Sharon, Britany Leake of York, Dylan McGomery of Cherryville, Kayla Dover of Smyrna, Cheyenne Dover of Smyrna, Alisha Curtis of Blacksburg, Madison Curtis of Smyrna, Hailey Norman of Smyrna, Trevor Lanier of Blacksburg, Mickey Lanier of Blacksburg, Jordan Lanier of Blacksburg, and Amber Giobbi of Grover; and two great-grandchildren, Alexander and Elijah Whiting, both of Sharon. Mr. Dover was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings, Roy C. (Spook) Dover, Edward Dean (Dinky) Dover, Ronnie Dover, Myrtle Lanier, and Ellen Costner. The family will receive friends Monday, January 2nd, 2012, from 6:00pm - 8:00pm at Gordon Mortuary. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 3rd, at 3:00pm at Christian Fellowship Church with Rev. Willie Lanier and Rev. Gregg Martin officiating. Interment will follow in Hambright Cemetery.
