Nan Buckner

Blacksburg -- Nanola "Nan" Wilkerson Buckner, 81, of 201 E. Ramseur Drive, passed away Thursday, August 12th, 2010 at Upstate Carolina Medical Center. Born in Hickory Grove, Mrs. Buckner was the wife of the late Johnnie James "Buck" Buckner, and the daughter of the late Samuel Hunt and Margaret Irma Hood Wilkerson. Mrs. Buckner worked as a bookkeeper for Wendell Fabrics and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Blacksburg. Surviving Mrs. Buckner is a son, Mark Buckner, and wife, Lisa, of Woodstock, GA; a daughter, Pam Buckner Holmes, and husband, Todd, of Fairfax, VA; three grandsons, Travis Holmes and wife, Bailey, of Charlotte, Troy Holmes of Fairfax, VA, and Evan Buckner of Woodstock, GA; a granddaughter, Alyx Buckner of Woodstock, GA; a brother, Phil Wilkerson and wife, Doris, of Blacksburg, and a sister, Eleanor Ashe and husband, Marion, of Greenville. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Buckner was preceded in death by a brother, Carlisle Wilkerson, and a sister, Sara Beth "Beppy" Landreth. The family will receive friends Monday, August 16th, 2010 from 10:00am - 11:00am at First Baptist Church of Blacksburg. Funeral services will immediately follow at 11:00am at First Baptist Church of Blacksburg with Rev. Scott Hammett officiating. Interment will follow at Hickory Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers are Kim Phillips, Sonny Sealy, Travis Holmes, Troy Holmes Evan Buckner and David Hogue Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Blacksburg, 103 S. Rutherford St., Blacksburg, SC 29702 or to Mt. Vernon United Methodist Building Fund, Family Life Center, 2160 Smith Ford Road, Hickory Grove, SC 29717 The family will be at the residence.
