Pinkney Phillips Obituary

Gaffney -- P. D. Phillips, 82, of 6346 Cannon's Campground Road, Cowpens, passed away Wednesday, March 13th, 2013 at his residence. Born in Gaffney, Mr. Phillips was the husband of Sue Phillips of the home and the son of the late Robert Lee (Bob) Phillips and Maude Allison Phillips. He worked as a supervisor in the textile industry and was of the Presbyterian faith. He was a veteran of the US Air Force. In addition to his wife, Mr. Phillips is survived by one son, David Phillips and wife Cindy of Chesnee; three daughters, Mary Beth Sarratt and husband Darrell (Winky) of Earl, NC, Connie Bolton and husband Reggie of Blacksburg, and Heidi Bolton and husband Jimmy of Cowpens; six grandchildren, Susie Owensby of Shelby, NC, Zac Bolton of Greenwood, Katie Bolton Gordon and husband Matt of Blacksburg, Lauren Phillips of Spartanburg, Seth Bolton and Peyton Bolton of Cowpens; four great-grandchildren and special niece Cathy Kirkland of Moore, SC; He was preceded in death by brother Herbert Phillips and sisters Doris Wilkie and Evelyn Painter. Graveside services will be held Thursday, March 14th, 2013 at 3:00pm at Frederick Memorial Gardens with Rev. Dennis Spencer officiating. The family will receive friends at Frederick Memorial Gardens after the service. Memorials may be made to Spartanburg Regional Hospice, 120 Haywood Drive, Suite 300, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
