Gaffney -- Robert Carroll, 52, of 922 8th Street, passed away Wednesday, October 20th, 2010 at his home. Born in Detroit, MI, Mr. Carroll was the husband of Carolyn Messer Carroll of the home and the son of the late Dustey Carroll and the late Annie Edwards Schroyer. Mr. Carroll worked as an electrician, was a veteran of the US National Guard, and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his wife, Mr. Carroll is survived by two daughters, Carolyn McAbee and Cora Tessneer, both of Gaffney; a step-son, Clarence Arthur Messer Jr. of Gaffney; a sister, Terry Lynch of Sunnyview, NC; a brother, Mike Carroll of Mill Springs, NC; 9 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. A memorial service for Mr. Carroll will be held Friday, October 22, 2010, at 2 PM at Blue Branch Baptist Church with Rev. Eddie Smith officiating.
