Robert Hambright, Jr.

Blacksburg -- Robert "Junebug" Hambright Jr., 74, of 407 Hardin Street, passed away Saturday, November 14, 2009 at Upstate Carolina Medical Center. Born in Gaffney, Mr. Hambright was the husband of Selma "Kat" Hambright of the home and the Son of the late Robert E. Lee and Lois Pennington Hambright. Mr. Hambright worked as a spinner in textiles and attended Nazareth Baptist Church. In addition to his wife, Mr. Hambright is survived by two sons, Buddy Wayne Hambright and Ricky Nelson Hambright; two step-sons, Jerry Dean Martin and Leonard Martin, all of Blacksburg; two daughters, Linda Dianne Hodge of Blacksburg and Kimberly Ann Duckett of Gaffney; a brother, Larry Lee Hambright of Kings Mountain; four sisters, Mary Hambright of Statesville, NC, Imogene Hambright of Kings Mountain, Gloria Hambright of Kings Mountain, and Brenda Getty of Grover; 11 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 until 7:30 Monday evening at Gordon Mortuary. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 17, 2009, at 2 in the Gordon Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Willie Lanier and Rev. Sidney Norton officiating. Interment will follow at Clingman Memorial Gardens. Jason Mathis, Scott Mathis, Dustin Mathis, Jerry Martin Jr., Bryon Duncan, Shannon Duncan, Brooks Duncan, Phillip Martin, and Matthew Martin will serve as pallbearers.
