Russell Lanier

Gaffney -- Russell Lanier Jr., 38, of 100 Redwood Circle, Apartment 46, passed away Wednesday, May 4th, 2011, at Upstate Carolina Medicial Center. Born in Gaffney, Mr. Lanier was the husband of Patricia Viola "Mickey" Painter Lanier of Gaffney and the son of Russell Austell Lanier Sr. and Linda Ann Moore Lanier, both of Gaffney. He worked in textiles and was a member of the Tabernacle of Love. In addition to his parents, Mr. Lanier is survived by two sons, Russell Austell Lanier, III and Joshua Dale Lanier, both of the home; a daughter, Ashley Nicole Lanier, of the home; two brothers, Michael Scott Lanier of York and James Bryon Lanier of Blacksburg; two sisters, Leslie Diane Wyatt and Missy Hill, both of Gaffney; and a step-mother, Kathy Lanier of Gaffney. The family will receive friends Saturday, May 7th, 2011, from 1:00pm - 2:00pm at Christian Fellowship Church. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00pm with Rev. Roger Ham and Rev. Willie Lanier officiating. Interment will follow at Hambright Cemetery. Christopher Wallace, Johnny Loftis, William Johnson, Kenneth Wyatt Jr., Douglas Hill, Chris Hill, Greg Jones Sr., and Greg Jones, Jr. will serve as pallbearers. Memorials may be made to the Russell Lanier Funeral Fund, c/o Gordon Mortuary, PO Box 428, Blacksburg, SC 29702. The family will be at the Patricia Lanier's residence, 940 N.
