Shirley Spry

Cherryville -- Shirley Jean Moore Spry, 82, of 2748-2 Clineland Rd, passed away Saturday, July 15th, 2017, at Testa Family Hospice. Born in Raleigh, she was the wife of Larry Spry and the daughter of the late George and Minnie Baker Moore. Mrs. Spry had previously worked in childcare and was a member of Eastside Baptist Church of Blacksburg. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Spry is survived by a son, Bruce Showman, of Virginia Beach, VA; two daughters, Lisa Shortridge and Scottie Hardy of Richlands, VA and Shirley Riddle and husband, David, of Cowpens; two step-sons, Shane Spry and wife, Lisa, of Cherryville and Tobby Spry and Brittany Carico of Kings Mountain; two step-daughters, Barbara Richburg and husband, John, and Otillua Spry, all of Polkville; her grandchildren, Derek McKnight, Danielle Hess, Stephanie Shortridge, Dustin Deese, Angel Bell, Jessie Bell, and Chance Riddle; and she was also survived by her step-grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Mrs. Spry was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Billy Moore, and a sister, Margaret Moore. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 18th, 2017, from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm at Eastside Baptist Church of Blacksburg, 1284 West Cherokee Street Blacksburg, South Carolina 29702. Memorial services will immediately follow at 2:00 pm with Rev. Eric Sellers officiating. Memorials may be made to Testa Family Hospice, 951 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby, NC 28150.
