Gaffney -- Valerie Cobb, 88, of 510 Thompson Street, passed away Sunday, July 28th, 2019, at Blue Ridge In Brookview Healthcare Center. Born in Blacksburg, she was the widow of Grady Childers and the daughter of the late David Cobb and Willie Ivester Cobb. Mrs. Cobb was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. Ms. Cobb is survived by two sons, Terry Holcomb and Stanley Earl Hicks, and three grandchildren, Kimberly Maria Hicks, Christina Diane Hicks, and Christopher Earl Hicks. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Nefford T. Cobb, Jack Cobb, Frank Cobb, Olin Cobb, Robert Cobb, Charles E. Cobb, Billy Cobb, Inez Messer, and Jeanine Cobb. Graveside services will be on Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, 805 Cherokee Falls Road, Blacksburg, SC at 1:00 pm with Rev. Virgil Hampton officiating.
