W T Martin

Smyrna -- W T Martin, 78, of 5018 Canaan Church Road, passed away Tuesday, December 13th, 2016, at Testa Family Hospice. Born in Cherokee County, SC, he was the husband of Maybell Wylie Martin and the son of the late Colonel Ace Martin and Lillie Mosley Martin. Mr. Martin was the owner/operator of Martin's Produce and he was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his wife, Mr. Martin is survived by four sons, John "Pete" Martin and wife, Teresa, of Lyman, SC, Charles "Buckwheat" Martin and wife, Laura, of Kings Mountain, William Thomas Martin of Smyrna, and Chris Pendleton and wife, Amy, of York; one brother, Charles Edward Martin, of Blacksburg; one sister, Betty Irene Keullibert, of Rutherford, NC; five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Mr. Martin was preceded in death by three brothers, Henry, John Frank, and J.D. Martin, and two sisters, Mary Mullinax and Lorene Dover. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 14th, 2016, from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Gordon Mortuary. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 15th, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Smyrna Baptist Church with Rev. Lucky Earls and Rev. Eddie Bolin officiating. Interment will follow in the Smyrna Baptist Church Cemetery. Chris Pendleton, John Robert Bolin, Wayne Bolin, Freddy Faris, Jerry Ledbetter, and Mike Wylie will serve as pallbearers.
