Wendell Pennington

Blacksburg -- Wendell Wayne Pennington, 61, of 180 Wilderness Trail, Blacksburg, passed away Saturday, March 16th, 2013 at his residence. Born in Gaffney, Mr. Pennington was the husband of Barbara Dover Pennington of the home and the son of the late William Albert Pennington and Wilma Louise Bullocks. He worked in maintenance in the construction industry and was of the Church of God faith. Mr. Pennington is survived by his wife, Barbara Pennington; three sons, Tony Davis of Clover, Wayne Pennington, Jr. of Gaffney, and Ricky Pennington of Tennessee; two daughters, Joyce Pennington of Spartanburg and Becky Pennington of Blacksburg; a special nephew, Ronnie Wilson; four brothers, Freeman Pennington of Blacksburg, Brian Pennington and Steve Pennington, both of Maryville, TN, and Mike Pennington of Gaffney; two sisters, Cathy Golden and Susan Pennington, both of Blacksburg; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The family will receive friends Monday, March 18th, 2013 from 7:00pm - 9:00pm at Gordon Mortuary. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 19th, at 4:00pm at Gordon Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Buddy Dover officiating. Interment will follow at Canaan United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will be at the residence. The Book of Memories is available at www.gordonmortuary.com.
