Gaffney -- Wesley Howard Schwab Jr., 65, of 150 Boiling Springs Highway, passed away Tuesday, September 3rd, 2013, at his residence. Born in East Brunswick, NJ, Mr. Schwab was the husband of Sally Conover Schwab of the home and the son of the late Wesley Howard, Sr. and Ida Dunn Schwab. He served in the United States Air Force from 1966 to 1970 as a Sergeant in the civil engineering squadron. He always took the time to thank a veteran for their service to our great country. Wes was a retired journeyman of the United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 9 in New Jersey. He was a welder from 1972 until 2003 and taught welding at the Local 9 Training Center from 1993 until he moved to South Carolina in 2007. Mr. Schwab was also a friend of Bill W's, having been a member in good standing for thirty-two years until his death. His love for all of us will be missed and the memories we have will surely bring a warm smile. Ride the bus and keep the foil handy. In addition to his wife, Mr. Schwab is survived by daughter, Gayle Peninger and husband, Matthew, of Gaffney and a brother, Bruce P. Schwab, of Lakewood, NJ. Visitation for Mr. Schwab will be held Saturday, September 7, 2013, from 7:00PM until 9:00PM at Gordon Mortuary. A memorial service will be held for Mr. Schwab will be held in New Jersey at a later date. The family will be at the residence. The Book of Memories is available at www.gordonmortuary.com.
