Blacksburg – Hazel Coyle, 82, of 283 North Cherokee Ford Road Ext, passed away Friday, August 30, 2013 at Piedmont Medical Center. Born in Blacksburg, Mrs. Coyle was the widow of James Monroe “Shorty” Coyle and the daughter of the late Sampson Lloyd and Sara Elizabeth Painter Pennington. She retired from textiles and was of the Pentecostal faith. Surviving Mrs. Coyle is a son, James Coyle, of the home; a brother, Herman Pennington, of Walhalla, SC; and a sister, Sadie Ledbetter, of Charlotte, NC. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Coyle was preceded in death by six brothers, William IV, Samuel Troy, Thaniel Roy, Yeatch, Herman Jodale, and Albert James Pennington and three sisters, Mrs. Robert Hambright, Mrs. Homer Woodward, Mrs. Edd McDaniel, and Mrs. Johnny Ledbetter. Memorial Services for Mrs. Coyle will be held Thursday, September 5, 2013, at 2:00PM at New Life Baptist Church in Bessmer City, NC. The family will be at the residence.
