Gaffney -- Wilma Batchler Porter White, 94, of 223 Tiffany Park, passed away February 17th, 2014 at Magnolias of Gaffney. Born in Blacksburg, she was the widow of Lee Porter and Wade White and the daughter of the late Jim Batchler and Una Byars Batchler. She retired as a housekeeping supervisor and was a member of Eastside Baptist Church. Surviving Mrs. White are five children, Harry Lee Porter and special friend, Diane Hardin, of Blacksburg, Jerry Porter and wife, Margaret, of Cowpens, Charles Porter and wife, Judy, of Blacksburg, Harold Porter and wife, Sandra, of Blacksburg, and Betty Patrick and special friend, R.J. McElrath; a son-in-law, Joe Sullivan, of Dumffries, VA; a brother, James Batchler, of Blacksburg; a sister, Cathrine Borders, of Blacksburg; nine grandchildren, Larry Williams and wife, Candie, Debra Godfrey and husband, Eddie, Lisa Majeski and husband, David, Jerry Lee Porter and special friend, Lynn Richardson, Kenneth Lee Patrick and wife, Alice, Scott Patrick and wife, Tracie, Tracy Gossett and husband, Darrell, Duane Porter and wife, Dee Dee, and Lorrie Martin and husband, John; seventeen great-grandchildren; and eleven great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husbands, Mrs. White was preceded in death by a son, David Porter; a daughter, Shirley Sullivan; a granddaughter, Cindy Duncan; two great-grandsons, Michael Williams and Brandon Greene; two brothers, Millege Batchler and Buddy Batchler; and seven sisters, Leatha Moss, Liane Isler, Thelma Philbeck, Elsie Peterson, Flossie Allen, Ollie Lanier, and Malene Upchurch. The family will receive friends Thursday, February 20th, 2014, from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Gordon Mortuary. Funeral services will he held Friday, February 21st, 2014, at 2:00 pm at Eastside Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Knotts, Rev. Joe Clayton, and Rev. Eric Sellers officiating. Interment will follow at Clingman Memorial Gardens. Joey Mageski, Eric Mageski, Scott Patrick, Duane Porter, Larry Williams, David Mageski, John Martin, and Kenneth Lee Patrick will serve as pallbearers.
