Winford Harold Varner

Blacksburg -- Winford Harold Varner, 78, of 118 West Bells Branch Road, passed away Friday, October 16th, 2015, at Mary Black Health System - Gaffney. Born in Gaffney, he was the son of the late Frank Varner and Inez West Varner. Mr. Varner retired from textiles. Survivng Mr. Varner are five brothers, Marshall, James, Charlie, Wilbur and David Varner, all of Blacksburg, and a sister, Etheleen Varner, of Blacksburg. In addition to his parents, Mr. Varner was preceded in death by six brothers, Walter, who passed away one day prior, Carl, Ervin, Fred, Luther, and Algie Varner, and a sister, Ferleen Varner. Due to his brother, Walter, passing away on Thursday, joint graveside services for Walter and Winford will be held Monday, October 19, 2015, at 11:00 am in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Norman Philbeck officiating. The family will be at their respective homes. The Book of Memories is available at www.gordonmortuary.com.
